SAGAING DIVISION – Local residents reported that more than ten displaced people who were coming back after collecting rice and cooking oil distributed by an NGO were abducted for no reason by the terrorist junta council.
The displaced people were returning after collecting rice and cooking oil distributed at Myohtaunt Pagoda in Shwebo on August 17.
They were said to be displaced people from Nhamasaryit Village, Myohla Village, Kantharkone Village and Kyaukmyint Village of Shwebo Township. Three of them have been identified as Mr. Kyi Maung, Mr. Min Naing, and Mr. Maung Khaing. It is said that they were taken away by junta forces on the road leading to the Pagoda entrance.
“They were abducted on their way back from collecting rice and cooking oil distributed by an NGO at Myohtaunt Pagoda. They are renting in Shwebo and doing odd jobs while fleeing the conflicts. It is not yet known where they were taken,” said a resident.
