YANGON DIVISION – Shwepyitha Strike Committee announced that the terrorist junta council abducted two young men from the strike committee who carried out a human rights campaign movement.
A movement for International Human Rights Day was carried out by the Shwepyitha Strike Committee and the New Generation Youth Strike Committee on December 10 and the two young men were abducted that night after encountering junta forces conducting guest list checks.
The two young men had taken part in the campaign by burning the 2008 constitution and the flag of the Yangon Division Command and holding the sign “May Human Rights Spread, The Free Land of Justice”.
It is said that the two are being interrogated at the Shwepyitha interrogation center and the terrorist junta council is planning to charge and sentence them.
The strike committee stated that the two comrades did not commit any crimes but only moved for human rights and justice and that the terrorist junta council was oppressing the people’s rights to freedom to speech, expression, protest, and any form of political activity, adding that the news was released to inform of the arrest of the two comrades from the Shwepyitha Strike Committee and to urge the people to defy against the daily injustice.
