MANDALAY DIVISION – Locals reported that the terrorist junta council was abducting travelers and young men heading to work at Letpankwae on Myothar Street at the West exit of Tada U.
“They flagged down motorcycles and load the young men onto cars that were also taken by force. The young men were then taken to the general administration office first. There were seven cars, mainly Canter trucks and light trucks. Is it estimated that there were around 250 people (abducted),” said one resident.
The young men abducted are said to be travelers and those heading to their workplaces, mostly daily labourers.
Moreover, the young men were also ordered to contact their families and sign documents.
Some sources within the junta council reported that those young men were loaded up on one Canter truck and a light truck then sent towards Bellin at around 4 p.m. on August 16.
It is reported that the terrorist junta council’s chairman for the Tada U administration council, Major Than Naing, was the main leader behind those forced abductions and that police, Pyu Saw Htee militants and general administration staff also took part.
