SHAN STATE – Two internally displaced people from Karla Village in Pekhon Township, southern Shan State were killed in a junta air raid, reported the locals.
The air strike around 11:30 p.m. on November 8 reportedly also damaged several buildings and vehicles.
“The village was bombed without there being any battle. A man and a woman in their 40s who fled from Naungthein Village were killed,” said a person assisting the IDP who has knowledge of the event.
Also earlier that evening, junta heavy artillery shelling killed four civilians including a 10 year old child in Noekoe Village, Loikaw Township.
Progressive Karenni People Force has informed that there were over 1,700 air strikes by the terrorists junta council in Karenni State including Pekhon and Mobye Townships from the time of the military coup till end of October, 2024.
In addition, it is said that a total of 684 civilians were killed, including those killed while being displaced.
