SAGAING DIVISION- It was reported that two people were killed by the military council in Chaung-U Town and one of the bodies was found dumping on the roadside.
On August 22 morning, at the intersection of Chaung U – Pakkoku Road, locals reported that the military council troops came and dumped the body of a man with his hands and feet tied.
“A (dead) man body with his hands tied up in the back was reportedly found this morning. Nobody dares to go there to see, so the victim could not be identify yet,” said a resident of Chaung-U.
Similarly, Chaung U Revolution reported that a young woman was shot dead by the Junta army for no apparent reason in the east-wing of Chaung U Market.
The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Ms. Zarchi Oo from a village of Chaung U township, according to residents.
“She was visiting a clinic. She was then shot for running away while being chased. She was reportedly chased for trespassing the Junta (restricted)area,” said a local.
The body of the woman was reportedly sent back to the family.
In these days, the Military Council Army has been arresting people in the neighborhoods of Chaung U Town. The letters calling for military service are being sent out and junta affiliates are asking for 40 lakhs kyat if one do not want to serve in the military. As a result, youths are forced to flee the town, said the residents.
