SAGAING DIVISION – The terrorist junta council carried out air and artillery strikes in Nyaungkan Village, Butalin Township without battle and the entire village had to flee, reported the residents.
Around 2:30 p.m. on October 19, a Mi-35 helicopter that took off from the Northwest Command in Monywa dropped six bombs into Nyaungkan Village, causing the residents to flee. The extent of damage from the attack is not yet known.
Moreover, the Northwest Command is also said to have fired seven Howitzer cannons. Nyaungkan Village is located on the Butalin-Kani-Kane Road and has a population of around 800 households.
“The airstrike came just as we were leaving the village after hearing that an attack was coming. The people all fled in a hurry. Now, we have reached safety. There were six bombs dropped. They also fired with a machine gun. Just before 3 p.m., the junta Northwest Command fired up to seven Howitzer cannons. We don’t know the situation of the damages inside the village,” said a resident of the village.
