MAGWAY DIVISION – The junta council dropped two 250lb bombs on Kanchaung Village in Saw Township around midnight on October 30, alleging that the village was supplying rations and medicine to the Arakan Army (AA) and the Chin National Front (CNF). The attack injured four civilians including a child and destroyed multiple houses.
“There was no battle. They just came and bombed us. Two 250 lb bombs were dropped. A child and three other people were injured. Many houses were damaged,” said a resident who asked to be anonymous.
News media supporting the junta council wrote that the junta regime attacked Kanchaung Village for distributing rations to the AA and CNF.
A 30 year old woman from Kanchaung Village denied those accusations and said that the bombing was a result of those false accusations.
“The people from our village did no such thing. We believe that the junta regime has been targeting our village for some time. And the junta supporters would spread lies on social media, accusing us of supporting AA or supporting CNF. That must be why they bombed us. This makes no sense,” she said.
The junta council, suffering losses in every battles, has been conducting airstrikes mainly targeting civilian residences, religious buildings, schools, hospitals and offices.
Between February 1, 2021 and October 24, 2024, a total of 5,880 civilians were murdered by the terrorist junta council, according to the AAPP.
