SHAN STATE – Local people reported that two junta fighter jets bombed Lashio City on September 30 night at 9:59 p.m. and 10:05 p.m.
“We heard explosions. There were also bombs that did not explode,” said a resident of Lashio Ward 12.
Those observing movements of junta planes shared that the fighter jets took off from Meikhtila Air Base and that another fighter jet took off from Meikhtila Air Base at 10:37 p.m. that night.
The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) announced on September 30 that the junta council began a counter-offensive on Lashio starting early September and continues to conduct airstrikes all over the city on a daily basis.
From the end of August till September 30, due to the junta council targeting civilian zones, three civilians died and around 40 were injured. Locals reported that the people who returned to Lashio had to leave the city again due to the consistent airstrikes of the junta council.
