SHAN STATE – The terrorist junta council bombed Lashio City in northern Shan State four times on October 4 morning, according to MNDAA sources.
The bombing started at 2:13 a.m., and there were four bombings just that morning. The bomb dropped during the first bombing at 2:13 a.m. reportedly exploded in the 121st back lane of Ward No. 8 but there were no casualties according to initial reports.
It is said that more airstrikes followed at 4:08 a.m., 5:15 a.m., and 5:20 a.m., but the location of the attack and the details of the damages are not yet known.
The junta council had paused its airstrikes from October 1 to 3 and resumed on the 4th. Since July till the end of September, the junta council conducted at least 25 airstrikes targeting civilian zones in Special Region 1 of Shan State that is controlled by MNDAA, killing at least 31 civilians and injuring 90.
The areas affected by junta airstrikes in response to the losses during on-ground confrontations in Lashio in July include Laukkai, Hsenwi District and other regions and MNDAA stated that the junta council sent consecutive bomber jets to non-military areas in Special Region 1.
Up till the end of September, the coup council carried out at least 25 airstrikes, using over 100 bombs, in Special Region 1, including Lashio, despite the lack of battles. 16 of those attacks resulted in civilian casualties with at least 31 dead and over 90 injured so far, and countless homes, hotels, and schools were damaged. MNDAA said that the damages to civilian properties cannot be measured.
