SHAN STATE – Local residents reported that six civilians were injured and houses were damaged after the junta council bombed Nawnghkio in northern Shan State on November 22 at midnight.
Around 11:55 p.m. on November 22, junta planes dropped two 500-pound bombs on Zone 10 of Zay Ward in Nawnghkio. The explosion damaged houses and injured six civilians, but it is said that their injuries are not life-threatening.
“The town was bombed at 11:55 p.m. last night (November 22). The plane flew over and dropped the bomb. Six houses in Zone 10 of Zay Ward, previously Shwe Wah Yeik, were destroyed. One woman was hit in the thigh. Bricks collapsed on an elderly woman. The rest had injuries like tinnitus. None of the injuries were serious,” said a resident of Nawnghkio.
The junta council has been bombing Nawnghkio almost daily, and junta airstrikes killed 17 civilians, injured 26, and damaged multiple houses in the town during the first 21 days of November.
