YANGON DIVISION – Junta forces blocked off the area and conducted searches after Hmawbi Air Base in Hmawbi Township was attacked with five missiles, according to residents and revolutionary news sources.
The attack on Hmawbi Air Base happened around 10 p.m. on December 6 and after a series of explosions, junta forces blocked the roads and villages near Pantapwint Hill, roads in Wanachaung Village, as well as the roads and checkpoints in Hmawbi and arrested several young people on suspicions.
“Five explosions were heard from Hmawbi Air Base, very loud explosions. Even the houses shook. After that, they checked the household registrations in our village. Junta dogs (junta forces) were all rushing in a hurry. They also set up checkpoints and conducted searches near Pantapwint Hill,” said a person living near Wanachaung Village.
A Yangon urban revolution news source also confirmed that Hmawbi Air Base was attacked with five missiles last night (December 6) and informed that related revolutionary forces will release the news later and that the revolutionary forces are safe.
There was a similar attack on Hmawbi Air Base on November 9 around 1 a.m. and residents and revolutionary news sources confirmed hearing explosions from the attack.
