MYANMAR – Reporters Without Borders (RSF) announced that the terrorist junta council murdered seven reporters and detained 62 after the military coup.
On August 21, two reporters from Mon State, Mr. Htet Myat Thu and Mr. Win Htut Oo were killed in their own homes after around 20 terrorist junta forces raided their homes and their bodies were also burned and destroyed on the same day.
RSF condemned the junta forces murdering the two reporters. After the military coup, junta forces similarly murdered Pu Tuidim, the founder of Khawnuntham Media and Mr. Sai Win Aung, the editor of Federal News while they are carrying out their media duties.
CJs Aye Kaw, Soe Naing and Myat Thu Tun (Pho Thiha) were also murdered while being detained and the latter was brutally tortured before getting killed.
The terrorist junta council has been targeting the news and media persons since the military coup and would check for connections with the media when checking phones in surprise inspections.
