MYANMAR – In the southern military region, junta army columns and stations were attacked almost 20 times in a week, and there were casualties of junta soldiers, the southern military region of the Ministry of Defence, National Unity Government announced.
The announcement was regarding the attacks on the junta council troops in the southern military region between November 16th and 22nd.
The attack on the junta council camp in Mataw Village, Hpapun township, Karen State was also mentioned. On November 16th, the People’s Defense Force and joint forces attacked the junta council column stationed near Mataw Village outside Hpapun in Military Sub-region 2, killing five members of the junta council.
On November 17th, it was reported that the joint revolutionary forces carried out eight times on the junta council army, and four members of the terrorist army were killed. Details of the incident were not disclosed in the statement.
In addition, it is said that between November 19th and 22nd, the junta council army was attacked 10 times and the number of casualties of the junta council during these attacks is still being confirmed.
It has been announced that a soldier from the joint revolutionary forces honourably fell in battle due to multiple air and artillery attacks by the junta council’s army.
The Karen National Union (KNU) announced that they had attacked and captured the Mataw junta council camp on the morning of November 22nd and reported that weapons and ammunition were confiscated.
The southern military region includes Karen, Mon, Bago and Tanintharyi, and revolutionary forces including the PDF and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) are attacking the junta council in the region.
