SHAN STATE (NORTH) – Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) announced on Saturday (November 16) that the battalion commander of the atrocious council was killed and four others were captured alive in Tawnghkam battle.
The fierce battle occurred at the military council’s infantry 354 and artillery battalion 902, and the military council soldiers, including the battalion commander and captain of infantry 213, were killed.
In addition, four junta thugs were also captured along with their weapons, according to the statement released by TLNA.
It is said that the battle took place as the junta army from Yatsauk-Kyaukgu, which was trying to reinforce its forces in Nawnghkio area advanced the region.
The terrorist army has been reinforcing the weapons, ammunition and troops from ground and air to get hold of Tawnghkam artillery camp. They are also firing heavy weapons and bombarding in airstrikes to the places where there is no clash, TNLA announced.
The fascist council is attacking Nawnghkio Township in Northern Shan, which is only a few miles away from Pyin Oo Lwin, where the military bases are located, and the town is being bombarded daily.
The terrorist council’s command headquarter no. 902 Artillery Camp, the artillery camps 206 and 406, and Infantry 354 are located at Tawnghkam village, between Nawnghkio and Pyin Oo Lwin towns.
Tawnghkam Village is about 20 miles away from Nawnghkio Town, and it is a very important place for military council as it has the headquarters of the fascist council’s infantry and artillery camps.
In the telegram channels of the terrorist council, they have been propagating that it has regained control of Tawnghkam village and that the TNLA and its allies forces have retreated.
