YANGON DIVISION – The junta council has demanded that the list of young people working in industrial zones in Yangon Division must be submitted by August 30.
The junta general administration department for Yangon Division is said to have ordered the list of workers by factory in the industrial zones to be submitted to the township immigration departments and township labour departments.
The instruction from the junta council mentioned that the list is to aid the collection of census and household data. It is said that this is the second time such data is collected after previously collecting the list of young workers in collaboration with UMFCCI.
UMFCCI and the junta ministry of labour recently cooperated to collect the data of young workers and submitted it directly to the junta council after the junta regime secretly instructed the UMFCCI to collect the data of young people working in industrial zones and other factories, workshops and businesses outside of the industrial zones in Yangon Division.
However, they reportedly used the reason of issuing citizenship scrutiny cards when collecting the data and it is said that UMFCCI general secretary and garment entrepreneur Khaing Khaing Nwe led the collection of data, aided by associate organisations and industrial zone committees.
