SAGAING DIVISION – A woman and four minors were abducted by terrorist junta forces who also confiscated the car belonging to the woman in Shwebo, according to acquaintances of the victims.
On November 12, Ms. Myint Myint, a poultry vendor, together with her nephew, was coming back after buying meat at the poultry farms to the east of Shwebo and ran into junta patrol. Following that the junta forces abducted Ms. Myint Myint and her nephew and also confiscated their cars. Similarly, two 13-year-old boys and a 14-year-old girl from Chiphwe Village were also abducted by terrorist junta forces at Sutaungpyae Gwae in Shwebo.
“Ms. Myint Myint who was abducted by junta forces, had fled from Palai Village stationed by junta forces and has been working as a poultry meat distributor in Shwebo. There is no contact with the abducted people. Even their car was confiscated,” said a resident.
The terrorist junta forces have been abducting, threatening, and extorting civilians in Shwebo almost every day, either at checkpoints or while going on patrols.
“If you didn’t have your phone, the (junta) soldiers would scold you for not having one on this age. If you had your phone, they would ask about your frequent contacts. If you used social media, they would accuse you of supporting the revolutionary forces. Even if they couldn’t find anything, they’d still use the vehicle license as an excuse to extort from 3 to 15 lakhs depending on the model of your vehicle,” said a resident.
In addition to junta forces, Pyi Saw Htee and Pyithusit militants have also been abducting and extorting civilians in Shwebo. Shwebo City is under the control of the junta forces and their subordinate militia but revolutionary forces have control of the surrounding villages.
