SAGAING DIVISION – Defender of Motherland Force (DOMF) is reported to have attacked the junta forces stationed inside Nyaungphyupin Police Station after those junta forces were partying with music blasting from loudspeakers while the revolutionary forces were holding a ceremony to commemorate the 77th Martyrs’ Day on July 19 in Monywa Township.
Around 70 junta forces are stationed at Nyaungphyupin Police Station located on the Monywa-Ahmyint Road in Monywa Township.
The junta forces also returned fire from inside the police station during the attack, which led to a 20-minute skirmish and it is still being investigated if there were any casualties.
Monywa People’s Strike Steering Committee, Monywa District Battalions, representatives of People’s Administration Body and People’s Defence Organisations, Local PDF, Village Defence Forces, Education officers, and local people held the Martyrs’ Day ceremony together.
