MYANMAR – Junta supporter Telegram channels posted that three junta forces were killed after a junta security vehicle escorting the team conducting census in Hpa-an, Karen State was attacked with a RPG missile from a close range.
It is said that KNU and PDF forces attacked the junta security vehicle escorting the census team near the entrance of Winsein Monastery in Zeyarthiri Ward of Winsein Village, located north of Tharmanya Village on October 10 around 7 a.m., killing three junta forces and injuring three more.
The junta vehicle was reportedly attacked with a RPG missile from a short range and it is said that the junta forces that searched the area seized a RPG shell.
The southern division military region of the People’s Defence Force also confirmed that the PDF and KNU forces cooperated and attacked the junta security vehicle.
Similarly, Shwetaung PDO attacked a census team of the junta council, made up of the Yundan Ward Administration Officer, soldiers, police and Pyu Saw Htee militants in front of the house of the ward administration officer in Shwetaung of western Bago Division on October 4 around 4:30 p.m., and three junta forces including the ward administration officer were injured.
Shwetaung PDO stated that they have recorded those cooperating to conduct census for the junta council and warned that there will be more serious consequences.
