MANDALAY DIVISION – Sources among the junta staff community reported that the junta staff from departments including the municipal department, general administration department and firefighting department were sent to attend military training.
Starting early August, selected Non-CDM staff from departments were sent to attend military training alongside Pyu Saw Htee militants. It is said that the staff were not given separate training that were made to train together with the Pyu Saw Htee militants.
“That’s true. Male staff have to attend military training in batches. It is not yet clear if we will be allowed to return to the office after the training,” said a staff currently in training.
In addition, young people from Mandalay are also summoned to compulsory military training every month with ward and administration teams pressuring the residents into military training regardless of age in the Villages and several urban wards of Mandalay.
“It is said that those under 35 years old will have to attend the monthly military training while men between 36 and 60 years old will have to attend the Pyithusit militia training,” said a resident from Pyigyitagun Township.
Currently, the terrorist junta council has been increasingly abducting civilians across the country and forcing them into conscription.
