SHAN STATE – Sources close to the junta council reported that reinforcements of around 200 soldiers and five military tracks were sent to Yaksauk from infantry battalion (IB) 510 based in Phayarphyu Ward of Taunggyi, southern Shan State, on August 19 around 6 a.m.
The junta council has been sending reinforcements to Yaksauk after suffering losses in the recent battles at Kyaukgu Village in Yaksauk Township.
“There have been battles every day. Junta forces would sometimes come in private cars,” said a resident of Kyaukgu Village.
Similarly junta subordinate Pa’O National Organisation (PNO) militia is also said to have stationed in Pinphyit Village, Yaksauk Township and conducting three-day military training then sending those trainees as reinforcement to Kyaukgu Village.
Moreover, PNO reportedly made even the woman taken on security duty in Pinphyit Village and wouldn’t accept bribes to get out of military training.
Danu People’s Liberation Force (DPLF) has announced that nine junta forces were killed, 8 prisoners of war were captured and 19 weapons were seized in the battle at Kyaukgu Village.
