MYANMAR – The junta council has started replacing the ward and village administration officers disloyal to them as they plan to arm the ward and village level civilian security forces across the country, according to a source within the junta council.
It is said that the junta council has begun cooperations between the military and general administration with the administration officers in villages and is replacing the administration officers who has held onto their position since the NLD government term, who has political bias, who has not followed the orders of the junta council and just fulfilled the bare minimum, or who has connection to the NLD party members with members of the USDP and junta informers.
“The current administration officers with political bias, relations to the red (NLD party), those who are only doing the bare minimum and don’t cooperate are starting to be removed. The local military intelligence traced their backgrounds and the general administration fired them,” said the junta source from Yangon.
In addition, it is said that the ward and village administration officers who will lead the civilian security forces at the ward/village level will be receiving salary and benefits as well as full power and even firearms.
“The ward/village administration officers who will lead the security forces will receive a salary of at least three lakhs. They will be armed and will be given full authority,” explained the junta source.
Those ward and village administration officers will be working together with the local military and police to take on security duty and will also have to wear the Pyithusit militia uniform.
