MANDALAY DIVISION – Shante Air Base in Meikhtila was attacked on November 11 morning and there were casualties on the junta side, reported news sources in Meikhtila.
Junta stations including Shante Air Base were attacked with missiles at around 4:45 a.m. on November 11, causing multiple explosions and latest news reported that there were casualties of a junta officer and several soldiers.
“The explosions at Shante Air Base reportedly killed and injured an officer and some soldiers. The exact number is unclear. It is only reported that there were casualties,” said a local news source.
Meanwhile, the junta council announced that Fixed Wing Drones that attacked Shante Air Base were destroyed after exploding and that around eight drones exploded in flight in Pyithaya (North) Ward and Zaungchankone Ward of Meikhtila.
According to junta reports, eight of the Fixed Wing Drones that attacked Shante Air Base to the north of Shante Village in Meikhtila Township were shot by the air defense system and one of them was found in the corn fields, another near Grand Cosmos Hotel on the side of the old Yangon-Mandalay Highway in Kyitawkone Ward and another at Mahuya Cemetery in Pyithaya (North) Ward. The junta council said that security forces from Meikhtila Army are finding out where the drones were launched but claimed that there was no casualties nor damage to the buildings.
