MANDALAY DIVISION – An official from Myingyan District Battalion 4 Natogyi People’s Defence Force (PDF) shared that over 30 junta forces were killed, three were captured alive and 27 weapons were confiscated during the attack and capture of four terrorist junta outposts in Natogyi.
Starting August 10 morning as Myingyan District Special Operation (MDSO), the junta outpost at the Ministry of Construction office, the junta guard post near the bank, the junta guard post near the gas pipes and the junta outpost at Aye Chaung behind the Ministry of Immigration office were attacked, resulting in the death of over 30 junta soldiers, capture of three and 27 weapons were confiscated.
“The situation calmed down now because we fell back. We didn’t mean to occupy (the outposts). It was just to compare strength. The junta dogs (junta forces) have also returned (to the outposts). We attacked and captured the outposts yesterday (August 10) then fell back immediately afterwards as there were (junta) airstrikes and it is hard to maintain control of the outposts after capturing them. Because this is the central region. Natogyi is surrounded on the east, south, north and west by other towns. Because it’s in the center, it is difficult to maintain control. We fell back around 1 p.m. yesterday (August 10),” explained the official from Natogyi PDF.
It is said that the junta council used excessive air attacks during said attack resulting in damages of buildings in the town and that around 200 junta forces re-entered the town in the night and reoccupied the outposts.
The attack was carried out by Myingyan District Battalion 4 Natogyi PDF, Myingyan District Battalion 8, Natogyi Township People’s Defence Organisation, Tada U Township People’s Defence Organisation and Myingyan Drone Team. It is also reported that a PDF soldier fell in battle during the attack.
