MYANMAR – The terrorist junta council, unable to find the perpetrators behind the attack on the Chinese Consulate in Mandalay, has built new police guard posts, blocked the roads, and increased security around the Chinese Embassy in Yangon, according to the residents.
Around 4:30 p.m. on October 18, the Chinese Consulate in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay was attacked with a bomb and the explosion caused around two feet of damage to the roof tiles of the two-storied building. China is reported to have requested the junta council to find the perpetrators behind the attack.
However, even 13 days after the attack, the junta council is still unable to find out who carried out the attack and thus they have increased security all around the Chinese Embassy in Dagon Township of Yangon, blocking the roads, placing barricades, and building new guard posts.
Starting a few days ago, half of Baho Road by the Chinese Embassy was blocked with barricades placed in a zigzag pattern. Now barricades are placed on both sides of the road. On Khayaypin Road, the entire half of the road in front of the Consulate is blocked. There are new guard posts on Baho Road with dogs (junta forces) guarding,” said a resident of Yangon.
In addition, it is said that an increased number of CCTVs have been placed in the Chinese Embassy pointing towards the road and an increased number of junta police patrols have been placed in the area around the Children’s Hospital in front of the embassy.
