BAGO DIVISION – Underground Guerrilla Force – Oakpho announced that a village tract administration officer of the junta council equipped with an anti bullet charm and a hand grenade in Oakpho Township was shot dead.
Mr. Aung Win, the administration officer for Nhawkone Village Tract in Oakpho Township was shot three times on the road near Ohnpinsu Village at around 6 a.m. on August 19 when he was going to Oakpho Town from his home in Ohnpinsu Village by motorcycle alone.
“He got off the motorcycle and ran away on his foot when he saw us. We shot four rounds and three hit him in the neck and killed him on the spot. We have been waiting for over a month to get rid of him,” said Comrade Daewa, the company commander of the underground guerrilla force.
It is said that the village tract administration officer spent most of his time in Oakpho Town and the revolutionary forces gunned him down when he was returning to town after a brief return to the village.
Around 15 junta police forces reportedly arrived at the scene of the attack and inspected the body of the administration officer about 30 minutes after the attack.
A hand grenade, an anti bullet charm, an ID card and documents related to junta conscription were said to have been seized from the body of the administration officer.
The notice by the guerrilla force described the junta administration officer as a hardline supporter of the junta council who asked the junta council to bulldoze the public roads, scouted and reported information of the PDF (People’s Defence Force) and forcibly conscripted soldiers for the junta council.
The Underground Guerrilla Force has previously gotten rid of junta-appointed hundred-households chief Tun Tun from Zayitmyaung Village, Khwatma Village Tract, Min Hla Township who also was equipped with a hand grenade on August 14.
