KACHIN STATE – It was reported by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) news source that the conquest of the China-Myanmar border town Kan Paik Ti, which was under the control of Zakhone Tainyain, was complicated at about 5:00 p.m. on Monday (November 20).
The revolutionary forces led by the KIA initiated the attack against Kan Paik Ti at 9:30 a.m. on November, achieving the absolute control over the town at 5:00 on the same day. It was said the all the junta soldiers, junta-backed militias and civil servants of the junta council had fled to China through the border.
The vanquishment of the town was carried out by the KIA and its subordinate forces amidst the pressures by China not to attack the town.
Kan Paik Ti was the last town in Kachin Special Region 1 to be conquered by the KIA and thereby, the seize of the town led the KIA to the absolute control of the whole Kachin Special Region 1.
The KIA attacked and conquered Chiphwe, Sawlaw, No.1002 border guard camp, Panwah, No.1003 BGF headquarters, Phemaw and Kan Paik Ti towns on September 29, September 30, October 18, October 21, November 1 and November 20 respectively.
