TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Kawthoung People’s Defence Force (PDF) announced on November 13 that they attacked a terrorist junta column at Maryam Village in Khamaukgyi Township, Kawthoung District to commemorate the anniversary of Operation 1111.
The junta infantry column, made up of around 80 terrorist junta soldiers, advancing towards Maryam Village was reportedly attacked with mines near Aungchantha Village.
“Six junta dogs (junta soldiers) were killed in the attack and more than ten were injured. They were immediately transported by car to Khamaukgyi according to sources close to the junta council. The revolutionary forces were able to successfully fall back unharmed,” said the statement.
In addition, the PDF urged the remaining junta soldiers, police, informants and pillars to switch to the side of the people and stated that they will be accelerating their offense.
The local civilians were also advised to follow the instructions and suggestions of the defence forces and remain vigilant as the military tension in Kawthoung Township could rise.
