KACHIN STATE – It was reported that Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied People’s Defence Force (PDF) attacked and captured Hpi Maw Town on Sino-Myanmar border, ruled by Kachin Special Region (1) of pro-junta Mr. Zahkung Ting Ying, according to KIA’s military news source.
KIA and PDF joint forces combated and acquired Hpi Maw Town on Sino-Myanmar border, at around 6:00 p.m., on November 2. KIA and PDF continued to occupy all the military bases despite fierce resistance of the Border Guard Force (BGF) and the militias under the military junta, all day long. Afterwards, they captured Hpi Maw Town on the evening of November 2.
The KIA marched to Hpi Maw Town and captured the military bases along the road. The Revolutionary Forces captured BP 7 military gate station along with major Shin Thant Aung, second in command, at around 1:00 p.m., on November 1. Moreover, they seized the military base in La Gway Village, led by captain Ko Ko Aung of Infantry Battalion – 298, on November 1.
“After seizing the headquarters of No. 1001 BGF camp, the junta controlled BGF and militias resisted fiercely along the way to Hpi Maw Town. KIA captures Hpi Maw Town, on the evening of November 2,” said the KIA source.
KIA led Revolutionary Forces combated headquarters of No. 1001 BGF camp located near Hpi Maw Town, starting on the night of October 30, and completely acquired it at around 6:25 p.m., on October 31. The headquarters of No. 1001 BGF camp is a garrison that protects Hpi Maw Town and located in Gam Hkwin Village.
KIA reportedly captured the headquarters of No. 1002 BGF camp, on October 14, the headquarters of No. 1003 BGF camp, at 5:00 p.m., on October 21, and the headquarters of No. 1001 BGF camp, the last remaining camp, on October 31. At present, the KIA has taken control of all the headquarters under control of Mr. Zahkung Ting Ying of the New Democratic Army – Kachin (NDAK).
KIA and allied People’s Defence Force (PDF) joint forces captured Mr. Zahkung Ting Ying-controlled Chipwi Town, on September 29, Tsawlaw Town, on September 30, Pang War Town, on October 18, Hpi Maw Town on Sino-Myanmar border, on November 2, and only Kan Paik Ti Town in Kachin Special Region (1) remained to be conquered.
