KACHIN STATE – After capturing the junta council’s Saitaung Police Station in Hpakant Township, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and People’s Defence Force (PDF) joint forces are attacking the terrorist junta forces stationed at Lucky Man Hotel, reported a KIA news source.
The revolutionary forces captured Saitaung Police Station on September 11 night and proceeded to attack the junta forces at Lucky Man Hotel on September 12 afternoon and the fighting is said to be intense as the junta forces at the hotel are also putting up a defense.
Moreover, the junta forces at Hpakant Strategic Hill are also said to be providing support with heavy artillery fire and the heavy weapons fired by them caused the civilian houses in Saitaung to catch on fire.
“Now, we are attacking to get rid of the junta dogs (junta forces) at Lucky Man Hotel. The civilian houses in Saitaung are on fire because the heavy artillery shells fired from Hpakant Strategic Hill landed there. The battle is also intense,” said the KIA source.
It is also said that the junta fighter jets have been bombing Saitaung in Hpakant Township.
Now that KIA and PDF joint forces have captured Saitaung Police Station, only six junta stations remain in Hpakant Township, namely Kansie Strategic Hill, Aungbarlay Camp, Mazupyanhtaung Camp, Lalpyin Yanchak, Hpakant Strategic Hill and Hpakant Police Station.
