KACHIN STATE – Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has been attacking the junta council’s Tiyangzug military base at Sumprabum Road starting from Aug 1, Information Officer Colonel Naw Bu of KIA said.
“Since this morning (Aug 1), our brigade (1) has been advancing. But so far, we have not heard that the junta base has been seized. The battle is an ongoing,” said Colonel Naw Bu.
The terrorist council’s battalion (58) has been stationing at Tiyangzug military camp.
A local news media which usually reports KIA military news stated that KIA brigade (1) launched an attack towards Tiyangzug and Insutzwat military bases on the morning of Aug 1 and Tiyangzug military base of junta council has been captured in the evening.
In addition, there has been fighting going on at Momauk Town, but there is no news of capturing the camp yet.
The battle continues to this day as the last remaining fascist council’s battalion (437) in Momauk was being attacked by KIA, KPDF, and AA allied forces starting from July 24.
