KACHIN STATE – The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has welcomed more than 100 Pyiyhusits, who defected from military council. Those armed militias who joined into legal fold were from Kanphan Village of Chipwi Township, military news source reported.
The KIA organized a welcoming ceremony to the mentioned Pyithusits who defected from junta council on November 5, and held a unity talk.
The armed militias Pyithusits surrendered and joined into legal fold when KIA troops reached to Kanhpan Village on the evening of November 4. More than 100 junta backed armed militias surrendered and KIA has taken control on Kanhpan Village.
The local residents of Kanhpan Village wholeheartedly welcomed the KIA joint forces when they entered the village. The rest of the armed militias who did not surrender left the guns near the stream and run away.
