KARENNI STATE – The Kayan National Army (KNA) has joined the revolutionary forces in battles at the border of Karenni State and southern Shan State, said Mr. Khun Sau Du, the KNA spokesperson.
KNA is said to be cooperating with Mobye PDF, Demoso PDF and KND in Mobye, and with Pekhon PDF, Inle PDF and KNDF in Pekhon.
“We had done cooperations before as well but not under the KNA name. We want to inform that we are now actively participating in the battles as KNA,” said Mr. Khun Sau Du.
Meanwhile, the junta council has banned residents from the Pinlaung-Pekhon Road as it is transporting around 500 reinforcement troops from Pinlaung to Pekhon while also advancing from Pekhon to Mobye, resulting in intense clashes.
KNA was established on October 29, uniting the Kayan armed forces in Loikaw, Demoso, Mobye, Pekhon and Kayan regions to fight against the junta council, and is now taking part in battles as a single entity.
KNA was formed to fight as a single entity and will work with unity as it’s main aim, and will form a committee with the leaders of the revolution in the Kayan regions and continue to work under joint leadership, said spokesperson Khun Sau Du.
