KAREN STATE – Karen military news source said that Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 6 and joint forces captured fascist army’s Hlutshan military base, located on Payathonzu-Thanbyuzayat Road of Kyainseikgyi Township on the morning of September 12.
Two news sources gave confirmation that the captured military camp was Hlutshan Village military base.
The source said that the military base in Hlutshan Village was blocked and attacked by the KNU Brigade 6 and joint forces from last August, and was finally captured on September 12.
The KNU news source also said that as the camp is being seized and the area is being cleared, the status of the confiscated weapons and ammunition will be announced later.
The KNU joint forces blocked and attacked the Hlutshan and Ahnankwin military bases which were under the control of junta council and Hlutshan Village military base was able to seize first.
The military council also fought back with heavy weapons and air strikes not to give up their military bases, and the local residents around those villages were forced to flee because of the fighting.
