KAREN STATE – Karen National Union (KNU) Chair Padoh Saw Kwe Htoo Win sent a message to the 74th Karen Martyrs’ Day that falls on August 12.
The message described Karen Martyrs’ Day as a day to remember and honour the Karen national leaders, comrades and people and that it was on August 12, 1950 when Chairman Saw Ba U Gyi and fellow leaders lost their lives.
It is said that the Karen people all over the world would gather to remember and honour the Karen Martyrs on this date.
The KNU Chair urged to fulfil the wishes of the Karen Martyrs and said that the success of the Karen revolution relies upon the unity of the Karen people.
