MYANMAR – The painting by singer Kyar Pauk, which was auctioned to help refugees from the flood areas, was sold for a winning bid of US$ 10,000.
The painting titled “Mother Nature (II)” is intended for the flood victims and was auctioned online for five days.
“Mother Nature (I) was painted when a storm hit Rakhine State. I drew it in Chiang Mai and sold it to raise funds for the flood victims. This is number (II). My (foster) mother number 4 from France had told me that she pray that I don’t have to draw any more such paintings,” said Kyar Pauk.
The auction was assisted by Mr. Maung Maung Aye and Ms. Pencilo and on the fifth day, a person living in Los Angeles won the bid for US$10,000.
Two bidders at the auction also contributed one thousand dollars each to the flood disaster donation. So, they received a total of twelve thousand dollars to support the flood victims.
“We will send the donations to Myanmar’s flood victims and the revolutionary forces,” Ms. Pencilo informed.
Artist Kyar Pauk also donated the proceeds from the sale of a painting that he collaborated with a foreign artist, to the people affected by the flood.
During the Spring Revolution, this was the second time that an art creation of Mr. Kyar Pauk was auctioned. The first time, was a Doddle Art painted on a Ukulele, that was auctioned for $28,500.
