NORTHERN SHAN STATE- A military source said that during the battle against MNDAA troops near the 100-bed military hospital in the compound of the Northeast Regional Military Headquarters, in Lashio City, some of the wounded officers, including the personal assistant (PA) of the former regional commander, Major General Soe Tint, were reported dead.
On August 1, the Northern Alliance Forces including the MNDAA troops in Lashio, advanced towards the Northeast Regional Military Headquarters and there was an encounter near the 100-bedded military hospital. The Junta troops retreated to the main building of Northeast Regional Command after being defeated.
During that battle, the personal officer of the former commander was reportedly killed, as well as some senior military officers being treated at the hospital.
“MNDAA dropped bombs against the guard forces (near the hospital) during the contact. There were wounded military officers and soldiers being treated at the 100-bed hospital. After the shootings and the fights, corpses piled up in the morgue. Everything smelled rotten as there was a blackout and a lack of refrigeration. There are also no medical supplies or not a soul to bury the dead,” said a military source.
Another military source said that at least 40 soldiers were killed in the battle at Lashio military hospital and some senior military officers were included among the dead.
Currently, according to the revolutionary news sources, the Northern Alliance forces are attacking up to the center of the Northeast Regional Command and soon will be able to completely capture the remaining military council camp and the regional military headquarters.
