MANDALAY DIVISION – Myingyan District based Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) Force announced the successful production of weapons modelled after Carbine rifles that use the more available 5.56mm ammunition.
MBT informed that they succeeded with the production on November 7 and that the weapon was manufactured mainly for the frontline soldiers who are facing the issue of low ammunition.
“The previous weapons used by our soldiers are the Indian nine bullets shotguns. There is few ammunition supply for those weapons. There are issues with purchasing even if you have money. It is very hard to find. The guns also have many errors. It is easier to buy ammunition for the guns manufactured now,” explained Bo. Mike Khae, the leader of MBT.
As the carbine model is lighter and can accurately hit the target within 100m, MBT plans to replace the nine bullets shotguns with these carbines that use 5.56mm bullets.
MBT is currently holding the “End Point” Campaign and has asked for support from the people. In addition to Myingyan District, the team is also active in Sagaing Division and Magway Division.
