SAGAING DIVISION – Special Regional Attack Forces – Monywa (SRAF) active in military region 2 of Bamar Liberation Defence Force (BLDF) in Monywa District are reported to be working in the farms.
Deputy Military Officer Na Ruaesam of BLDF military region 2 explained that it is intended to reduce the wastage of the people’s contribution and to ease the burden of military expenses.
The comrades are reported to have planted various vegetables including onion, mushroom, gourd, peas, tomatoes and eggplant in around two acres of farmland near the base of SRAF.
In addition, they are also raising, goats, chickens, ducks and pigs as well as wild birds and rabbits with the female comrades taking turns to take care of them, said Comrade Annie.
It is easy to herd the animals during the rainy season and the cold season due to the abundance of greenery but is difficult during the hot season.
SRAF also requested the people to support them so that they are able to replenish their weapons and ammunition.
