SHAN STATE – Local resistance sources reported that the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) released around 300 family members of military prisoners of war captured at the junta Northeast Command in Lashio on August 6.
Meanwhile, the prisoners of war are said to be detained well according to POW regulations.
“PDF joint forces and MNDAA Kokang army released the family members of prisoners of war from Lashio Northeast Command today (August 6). SSPP also cooperated. Junta soldiers were not released. They are detained according to regulations. There were around 300 released today,” said a local resistance news source.
MNDAA has officially announced that the junta Northeast Command was completely captured on August 3, 2024 at 12:20 p.m.
