THAILAND – 84 Myanmar citizens who are going to work in Malaysia were arrested in Thailand, reported by Thai media.
On 23 July, 73 men, 9 women and 2 children of Myanmar citizens were found in a house in Nong Ta Chao village, Phetchaburi province, Thailand. Those 84 Myanmar citizens paid between 50 thousand and 60 thousand Thai baht per person to work illegally in Malaysia. They entered via Mae Sot, Tak province, Thailand by 3 minibuses.
Similarly, on 18 July, Thai authorities seized 83 Myanmar citizens who illegally crossed the border and hiding in a cave near Vajiralongkorn dam, Thong Pha Phum district, Kanchanaburi province, Thailand, reported by Bangkok post.
Thai authorities, out of suspicion, traced the supports who were transporting food for the Myanmar citizens hiding in the cave and seized them.
