CHIN STATE – The junta regime-controlled telecom operators had cut off phone communication and mobile internet services in Hakha City, Capital of Chin State, since April 16, according to locals.
Currently, ATOM (formerly Telenor) and Ooredoo phone lines have been cut off in Hakha City and only 2G services can be used on MPT phone lines.
“We access 2G services on MPT operator just for messaging and talking on the phone. ATOM and Ooredoo services are not available at all. The reason given by the junta-controlled government departments is that they ran out of fuel to open the phone lines. Actually, I can’t say it was real or not. We don’t know when we can access the telecommunications services,” said a local man in his 30s.
Similarly, it was reported that the telecommunications services had been banned in Falam Town, and locals are having trouble communicating with each other. The nefarious junta council has banned telecommunications and mobile internet services in most townships of Chin State, and blacked out information and conducting military operations as they wished.
Hakha is a city that has fully access of telecommunications and internet services as it is the base of Chin State’s government departments.
Currently, locals were using Wi-Fi services as telecommunications and mobile internet services had been cut off by the terrorist junta council.
