MYANMAR – The Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment under National Unity Government (NUG) has announced that the NUGPay service marked one year for its operations on July 1. The NUGPay users who have opened a NUGPay account by paying activation code fees (5,000 kyats) for one year between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023 shall be exempted from having to pay the activation code fee for another year from the first anniversary date.
From 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, the activation fee is waived for one year.
Those who are exempted for one-year fees and want to pay for the activation code can donate to the activation code supporting program to the CDM employee, who have joined in Civil Disobedience Movement, according to the statement.
It was said that the exemption is intended to benefit the revolution’s support sector in order to broaden the public.
It was said that the NUG has made an effort to end dependency on terrorist junta-controlled financial systems, to solve the security challenges faced by the people, to eradicate the military dictatorship, and to develop a free and safe accessible financial circulation mechanism.
