MYANMAR – The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that it is providing emergency food packs to the civilians affected by the flood,through townships officials on the ground.
The Ministry informed to public that it has been helping, rescuing, relocating and providing emergency food packs to the local people across Myanmar who are currently facing floods due to Typhoon Yagi.
The People’s Defence Forces (PDF), Townships PDF, People’s Administration Organization and members of
Humanitarian Organization provide timely assistance to the people affected by the recent floods in the Sittaung river of Bago Division. The pregnant women, women, children, and the elderly were rescued to safe places.
The ministry issued a joint statement regarding the flood disaster in ethnic areas, collecting the list of flood victims, assessing the needs and continue to provide emergency supports.
As assistance are provided from people to people, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government also expressed gratitude towards the volunteers and donors from local and abroad.
