KAREN STATE – Karen National Union (Headquarter) issued a statement that one civilian was killed and another was injured due to the firing of heavy weapons by the terrorist war council in Dooplaya District of Kyondoe Township.
The terrorist council’s light battalion 231 fired with howitzers at about 12:45 p.m. on October 18, resulted killing a civilian and wounded the other.
Three motors dropped and exploded into Kyain (South) and three others into Kyain (North) villages as the atrocious junta army has been targeting civilians’ villages.
A 71-year-old resident of Kyain Village (South) was killed and a 70-year-old resident was also injured by a shrapnel. In addition, a house of a local resident was hit and damaged, and betel nut trees belonging to the public were also damaged.
The terrorist war council troops stationed in the KNU’s Brigade 6 of Dooplaya District reportedly using heavy weapons and fighter planes to shell the civilians’ villages, regardless of having battles or not.
It was mentioned in the statement that due to the terrorist war council’s inhumane human rights violations, civilians have been hit and killed by the reckless shelling, and public housings and properties, schools and religious buildings were also hit and damaged.
