SAGAING DIVISION – In Kyunhla Township, revolutionary forces attacked and captured Madaung Village that was stationed by terrorist junta forces and one junta soldier was killed and a weapon and ammunition were seized, according to an official from Kyunhla Activists Group.
Revolutionary forces attacked and captured Madaung Village that was stationed by around 70 junta forces around 5:30 a.m. on December 13.
The battle, launched by the revolutionary forces asked in Kanbalu District, lasted around five hours and the entire village was captured around 10:45 a.m.
It is said that a junta soldier was killed and around 20 were heavily wounded during the battle and a MA-1 rifle, 460 5.56mm bullets, five cartridges, one large landmine and six small mines, two helmets and a communication device were confiscated from the junta forces.
The terrorist junta forces at Madaung Village were part of the column of around 200 forces that raided Kokkokone Village in Kyunhla Township on November 20. They had split up and took station at the hospital in Kokkokone Village, Myabontha and Madaung Village and have been looting and torching the houses in Kokkokone, Hluttite, Swallal and Madaung Villages and also stole the harvest from the rice fields belonging to the resident civilians.
The terrorist junta forces have been raiding, torching and attacking the villages in Kyunhla Township for around 25 days and the civilians have also been displaced for nearly a month. Currently, around 20,000 people are displaced in Kyunhla Township and are in need of basic food, medicine, warm clothes, blankets and shelters, said the official from Kyunhla Activists Group.
