KAREN STATE – Local residents reported that over 100 junta soldiers parachuted into the trade zone near Myawaddy Town and that there were also a few whose parachute did not open.
Starting around 1 p.m. on October 20, junta soldiers have been parachuting every five minutes and there were also a few that died after their parachutes failed, according to eyewitnesses.
“The junta dogs (junta forces) were jumping down from the plane and parachuting. The people of Myawaddy are startled. The dogs would jump four at a time. They are probably jumping towards the trade zone. Because it was the whole day, we don’t know how many had failed parachutes. I personally saw six. The parachutes didn’t open. I was watching them,” said a resident.
It is said that junta soldiers were parachuting every five minutes and that two junta fighter jets bombed Dawna Mountain and the Asia Highway in Myawaddy before that.
