KACHIN STATE – A KIA source said that more than 40 militias from Kachin Special Region 1, led by the Terrorist War Council, had defected to the KIA with weapons and ammunition.
On October 23rd, more than 40 militiamen from Tamu Hkung village, under Kachin Special Region 1, led by Zahkung Ting Ying, surrendered to the KIA with full weapons and ammunition. It is known that KIA warmly welcomes those who come to the legal fold.
“More than 40 militiamen have surrendered. There is no list of ammunition,” the KIA source explained.
On October 18th, Pangwa was captured by the KIA-led revolutionary forces from the Kachin Special Region 1 border guard troops led by the army’s subordinate Zahkung Ting Ying. More than 500 small arms and countless munitions were also seized.
