KARENNI STATE – Despite the junta council putting on a facade that things are stable in Loikaw City, junta forces and revolutionary forces are clashing daily and over 60 houses were destroyed in one month due to junta arson, stated Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) on July 27 night.
Battles have been breaking out daily in Monglong and Ywardanshe Wards of Loikaw since July 1 and junta forces have been torching houses after breaking into and looting, resulting in the destruction of over 60 houses, stated KNDF.
Ever since the launch of 1111 Operation, fighting has not ceased between the resistance forces and the junta troops in Loikaw with battles continuing to take place all over the city.
Starting the last week of June, the junta council reinforced its troops and carried out operations in Monglong Ward, leading to a counter operation by KNDF, KA and MK CDF and resulted in fierce clashes in Monglong, Ywardanshe, Htudungantha, Loikaw Technological University and Myakalat Mountain beginning July 4.
KNDF also requested for support from the public as the Karenni revolutionary forces are combatting the junta troops daily in Monglong, Ywardanshe and Htudungantha Wards.
In addition, KNDF also advised the civilians to avoid returning home, to find out correct information from the related officials and to be aware of the military situation for their safety as the junta council is spreading propaganda as if the situation is stable and peaceful in Loikaw.
