THE UNITED KINGDOM- A cycling race was held in London, Great Britain, (on August 10) to commemorate the 36th anniversary of Myanmar’s 8888 Uprising. The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of NUG said that more than a hundred million kyats funds raised from the event will be donated to the locals fleeing the war.
On August 10, Burmese migrants held a 36km cycling race in Central London to commemorate the 36th year of the 8888 Uprising.
More than £15,000 ( over 100,000,000 kyats)was reportedly collected from those who participated in the event.
The donations received from the bicycle fund-raising event representing the Burmese community in the UK will be sent through the Ministry of Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Management to support the war refugees in Myanmar.
