MYANMAR – Assistance Association of Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported on September 1 that more than 1,000 women were killed by the atrocious junta army during the three-year military coup.
AAPP said that the exact number was 1,132 women who were killed and recorded along with their names.
More than a thousand women lost their lives due to the junta’s artillery and airstrike attacks, shot and killed, slaughtered after being abducted, murdered after being raped and other ways.
According to AAPP’s data, among these factors, the number of deaths due to being hit by heavy weapons, due to airstrikes, and being shot and killed is the highest.
It was reported that a total of 14 women were killed in prisons, labour camps and interrogation centers, after they had been abducted by the genocidal junta army.
Among the divisions where women lost their lives the most is recorded as Sagaing Division, followed by Rakhine State, Magway, Bago and Mandalay divisions and Shan State, due to the junta army.
More than 27,000 people were abducted during the three-year military coup, including more than 5,600 women. More than 1,000 women were involved in the deaths of more than 5,500 people during the military coup.
